Our Community

At The Laurels, we invite our community to grow and learn with us with hands-on opportunities through volunteering.

Community volunteers

Starting in the Spring, we will host weekly volunteer days where community members can gather, learn and connect with one another and the ground that feeds us.

Groups

Giving back to the community is a great team-building activity. Whether you are a corporate team, youth group or any other group interested in lending a hand, we would love to have you!

WWOOF® links visitors with organic farmers, promotes an educational and cultural exchange and builds a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.

Our Model at The Laurels Farm

The future farm co-op at The Laurels farm will be home to a new way of doing business for small farmers who face numerous barriers when entering the food market including high fees, access to customers, product exposure and more. Our model changes that by creating a place where we value collaboration and community over fees bottom of the barrel pricing for our vendors. Our success lies with our donors, supporters, and fundrasing efforts.

Why The Laurels Farm Stands Out?

At The Laurels Farm, we are addressing a challenge farmers are all too familiar with: it is expensive and increasingly difficult for small farmers to bring food to market. As a nonprofit, we help absorb and reduce the cost, creating practical, affordable pathways for local farmers to sell what they grow and make and helping keep small farms viable.

At the same time, education is central to our mission. Through hands-on classes and real-world experiences, we teach people how to grow their own food and understand the systems behind it. By sharing these skills, we reduce dependence on expensive, highly processed products and help build a more resilient, self-reliant community food system.
